carpe_diem Fish Addict *Dreamer* Posts: 555 Kudos: 292 Votes: 51 Registered: 18-Apr-2004 | Hi I was just wondering whether the carbon you get in a felt form is different to the one in a rock/granule form? would it make any difference which one you add to a cannister filter? |

The other is the chunck or rock form as you say. They are both the same thing. Just one is smaller pieces glued on the filter pad. IMO the filter pad does not do as much as the larger ganules, as there is not as much in comparison to total surface area. The filter pad will do just as well, just not as long or as much, because the surface area will fill up quicker. There is always a bigger fish... |

Also as it get older it can become a problem as it stores up the nasties very quickly. This will depend on your tank. Its for a cannister filter so it should be ok. Thanks for your replies! |
